PT and OT

Eli has officially started therapy. Right now he has PT and OT each once a week. He LOVES OT....PT? Not so much. I love watching him work so hard and the smile on his face when he succeeds. We have been blessed with AMAZING therapists and we consider them friends. Our schedule is crazy and we see them more than we would like, but we love them. Since Malachi's stroke we have upped his therapy here is our week.

Monday: OT for Malachi, PT for Eli
Tuesday: Open play at Gigi's playhouse ( a Down syndrome awareness center)
Wed.: PT for Malachi, ST for Malachi
Thursday: DT for Malachi, OT for Malachi, OT for Eli
Friday: PT for Malachi

Yikes, I often wonder how I manage it all. In there we need to fit in time to doc. appointments and some fun. Needless to say we are busy, crazy busy but the benefits we see in the boy's outweighs the times of mass chaos. How often do your children get therapy's?

Max only has PT - twice a month at an outpatient clinic and once a month at home - he's 14 months. We also see our early intervention coordinator person once a month at home.

Glad to see someone else is matching our crazy routine! We have at least one session scheduled every day of the week. It gets to be overwhelming...the sheer logistics of loading the two squibs in and out of the car for the sessions is enough to poop me out! Jace will be glad someone else joins him in PT disdain. :0)

Our schedule was similar when Christopher was in EI. Now that he is 6, it is a whole different ballgame. If he was at school, I am not sure what the schedule would be. He's not, so we end up coming up to LaRabida about once a month for an intensive PT, OT, Speech tag team session - anywhere from 2 to 4 hours of intense therapy. Then we get "assignments".

This may change after his surgery. We may have the opportunity for about a month of intense inpatient therapy services @ Rehab Institute of Chicago. They have treadmill therapy! I'll let you know as soon as we know.

Good luck!

Hugs!

Steph

Don't therapy schedules gets crazy??? I have 3 kiddos and last summer between all 3 of them I had 6-7 therapy sessions a week and drs appointments thrown in too! This summer is still crazy but we're doing things a little different so hopefully we can have a little fun too!! Although it feels like we have WAY more dr appts this summer than normal!

I don't even remember how I came across your blog but I do love checking in on your sweet boys.
