A, B, C...yeah C

I've got good news and bad news. Which would you life first?

Okay, Okay...I choose good news first.

Malachi's liver is fine. Around of applause please. His labs also showed no signs of Hep. B. Yes, thats what I like to call a double whammy of good news.

Bad news. His labs showed that he is borderline positive for Hep C. Two thumbs down, way down. So what do we do next? Normally we would get a referral to our favorite hospital  to see a specialist but the said hospital no longer takes Malachi's insurance. So we chose a new hospital in the big city, the only one we have NEVER been to but have heard wonderful things about. We are waiting for a referral to go through to a new GI who will not only looking into the newest issue but also work with Malachi on his other GI issues. I was informed that more in depth labs will be drawn to either confirm or deny Hep. C.

See the yellow? Ugh. I.NEED.A.VACATION!!!!!

Always something

The boys had a duo cardiologist appointment yesterday. Both the tickers are doing great and we don't have to go back for an entire year! Sounds to good to be true right? I'll answer that for you, yes. While there, dr. F pointed out the fact that Malachi looked unusually yellow and that we would get him to the pediatrician asap. We went today.

Malachis face, arms, legs, feet and the whites of his eyes are yellow. I kept telling myself this was some awful trick but it's not. Malachi is yellow. So began the hustle and bustle of the nurses trying to get all the paperwork together for the large amount of labs to be drawn. The reason for the yellow invasion? Liver disease, hepatitis b or c and a long list of works I can't say or spell for that matter. 3 sticks later and lots of vials, they finally have what they need.

Now we wait and see. My stomach is in knots, I'm worried and scared. This could be serious, very serious or it could be nothing. Can't he ever get a break? Seriously.

Where is my glass of wine?

Snomagedon

We were blasted...smacked in the face by the fourth largest snow store in Northern Illinois history. I believe 14 inches is the latest total but it is expected to climb higher. The real doozie? Sustained wind at 25mph with gusts up to 77mph. A blizzard? I'd say so. Everything is closed today. Even if things were open its not like we could drive anywhere. Snow drifts up to 6ft tall, plows getting stuck and every single road in our entire county is closed. This is the Blizzard of 2011.

Preparing for...

Snow, snow, snow! We are being slapped with the biggest snow storm since 1979! And let me tell ya, the snow of '79 was a doozie, even though I wasn't even born yet! Haha, did I make you feel old? Let's get on with things...it's snowing, a lot and very windy. My husband has a snow day which means I have an excuse to be lazy, sleep in and not change a single diaper! I'm dreaming, but he does have a day off! If you don't hear from me for a few days come looking for me. It most likely means we have lost power, ran out of food and stuck in our house! This storm just may be the end of the world as we know it, or not. Either way I'm gonna make like a bear and hibernate!
